Pappas successfully pushes lenders to pay borrowers' property taxes by the due date

Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas has pushed lenders to make their borrowers' property tax payments by today in order to boost the county's tax flows, Politico reports.

The move came after some public-school districts and local governments expressed concerns about a two-month waiver of late fees for the property tax installment due today.
