Almost 11,000 Cook County homeowners on verge of losing homes due to unpaid property taxes

Illinois Review

Almost 11,000 Cook County homeowners could lose their homes if they don't pay their unpaid property taxes by May 8, 2020, Treasurer Maria Pappas warned at a press conference, Illinois Review reports.

Pappas urged the Illinois General Assembly to pass SB 3356 which would extend the deadline to pay delinquent taxes by four months.
