WCIU/Virtual Channel 26 (UHF 23)

Treasurer Maria Pappas is making a special effort to help property owners claim available refunds and missing property tax exemptions, especially in communities that do not speak fluent English, according to a report on the Jam morning show on WCIU/Virtual Channel 26 (UHF 23).

"I grew up white ethnic," Pappas says. "I understand what it's like to be bilingual and not understand English, but this [Cook County property tax collection] is a very confusing process."
