Delinquent Tax Deadline Looms for 45,000 Property Owners in Cook County

WTTW/Channel 11

The clock is ticking for 45,000 Cook County property owners who owe $142 million in delinquent taxes, Chicago Tonight anchor Phil Ponce reports on WTTW/Channel 11. If they don’t pay up, those unpaid bills may become opportunities for investors.

During an in-studio interview, Treasurer Maria Pappas says her problem with the sale is that it usually affects those who are most vulnerable – senior citizens.
