Amid the record cold temperatures, Wednesday, January 30, was a good day to stay inside and use cookcountytreasurer.com to download your first installment bill, due March 1, or verify your money-saving property tax exemptions, Treasurer Maria Pappas tells the Chicago Tribune’s “The Spin.”
The Treasurer’s Office was closed on Wednesday. “Pappas, however, showed up at the city-county building with her toy poodle, joking that bringing pets into a public building will likely get her in trouble and trigger an investigation by the Cook County inspector general,” the newspaper reports.
