$19.5M in Paid Property Taxes Heading Back to Cook County Homeowners by Oct. 15

Thousands of Cook County homeowners are set to get a few hundred dollars back in property taxes this year, part of $19.5 million in refunds thanks to increases in tax exemptions intended to soften the blow from massive tax hikes enacted to address with the city’s pension shortfalls, the Chicago Tribune reports.
