Cook County is mailing its property tax bills in time for an August 1, 2018, due date, despite warnings in April by the Board of Review that it didn’t have enough staff to meet the deadline, WBEZ/91.5-FM reports.
The Treasurer’s Office posted the bills online about two weeks early, and employees worked extra hard to make sure the mailing deadline was met, Treasurer Maria Pappas said.
“We ran our printers 18 hours a day, four printers, to get this process moved along,” she said.
