Cook County Extends Office Hours for End-Of-Year Rush To Prepay Property Taxes

Chicago Sun-Times

Treasurer Maria Pappas said that her office will be open on New Year’s Eve for those who wish to make payments in person, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The deluge of payments isn’t likely to slow before the end of the year, Pappas predicts.

“People are just waking up from Christmas and they’re just finding out about this,” she tells the newspaper.
