Chicago Tonight: How to Prepay Your Property Taxes

Treasurer Maria Pappas has revamped cookcountytreasurer.com so that homeowners can pay their First Installment property taxes online or download a copy of their bill, WTTW-TV reports.

Pappas said she is making improvements because of the rush of property owners seeking to prepay their 2018 property taxes to get a deduction on their 2017 federal income tax return.

“Everyone is looking to find out how to save money … so if they can get a deduction they are going to grab this,” Pappas said.
