Cook County Treasurer's Office - 6/26/2015
CHICAGO – The latest property tax bills will be mailed Wednesday, July 1, but can be seen and paid online immediately at cookcountytreasurer.com, Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas said today.
Pappas said her office is posting the Second Installment bills for tax year 2014 on her website to give taxpayers an “early peek” of as much as a week extra time to pay immediately or simply to see how much they should pay by the due date of August 3.
The Treasurer’s Office is scheduled to mail the nearly 1.8 million property tax bills on July 1, meaning that the bills would arrive at most property addresses in the days immediately following.
After receiving the bill, property owners can pay:
- Online at cookcountytreasurer.com
- At nearly 400 Chase Bank locations in Illinois
- From an account at some 200 participating community banks
- By mail with a U.S. postmark no later than August 3, 2015
Partial payments are accepted. Payments received or postmarked after August 3 will be charged 1.5 percent monthly. Taxpayers must record their 14-digit Property Index Number (PIN) on the face of each payment check.
