Cook County Treasurer's Office - 10/3/2002
If there is a zero next to an exemption on your 2nd Installment 2001 property tax bill and you qualify to receive that exemption, you must contact the Cook County Assessor's Office.
The Cook County Assessor's Office has sole authority to issue exemptions and to issue adjusted property tax bills. You may contact the Assessor's Office by:
- calling 312-443-7550
- visiting the Assessor's Offices on the Third Floor of the County Building at 118 N. Clark St., Chicago or at the suburban courthouses
- sending an e-mail to taxinfo@cookcountyassessor.com.
Please note: Suburban residents also may go to their township assessors for help.
Chicago residents may call the City's tax assistance center by dialing 311 for help.
Again, if there is a zero on your tax bill next to an exemption that you qualify to receive, you must contact the Cook County Assessor's Office.
