The due date for the Tax Year 2008 Second Installment is Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

The due date for the Tax Year 2008 First Installment was March 3, 2009.
 

ATTENTION:  TO AVOID REFUSAL/REJECTION OF PAYMENTS AND LATE PENALTIES, individual payments of Cook County property taxes submitted in person must abide by the following requirements:

  • You may submit your original payment coupon and payment at any of the more than 370 Chase Banks throughout Chicagoland. Locations are available at this Web site.
  • You may visit the Cook County Treasurer's Office at 118 N. Clark St., Chicago IL 60602.
  • Business hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
  • You may pay by cash, personal check, money order, cashier's check or certified check.
  • Submit one original payment coupon and check per Property Index Number (PIN) per envelope.
  • Be sure that your check includes your:
    • Name (or the name of the taxpayer on whose behalf a mortgage or title company is paying)
    • Property location (with unit number, if needed)
    • 14-digit PIN
    • Phone number
    • Your e-mail address (if available)

  • Be sure to write your PIN on your check.
  • Provide only the original payment coupon with your payment -and keep the top portion of the tax bill for your records.

Within a week, verify the posting of your tax payment at this Web site by clicking on "Payment Status" and entering the 14-digit PIN.

Payments may be returned if they lack adequate information for processing, such as the PIN, or the original payment coupon and/or the identity of the person(s) or entity submitting the payment.
